The role of a Learning Disability Support Worker

The daily role of a support worker depends on the needs of the individual. In terms of working within healthcare, it would mainly focus on supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. A support worker can be placed in various settings. Learning Disability Support Worker roles include working in health and social care settings such as supported living services specific to those with learning disabilities.

How to Become a Learning Disability Support Worker?

We currently have Band 3 Learning Disability Worker roles available in Greater Belfast area. To meet the criteria, you must have:

  • NISCC Registration – We can assist with this registration if not held
  • A full understanding of the issues involved in supporting an individual with a learning disability
  • CPI Approved Safety Intervention Training– We can arrange this training for you if not held
  • A Psychology degree or working towards completing a Psychology degree

We now have an in-house trainer, which our candidates can use to complete CPI Approved Safety Intervention Training!
