ID Verification
All candidates must provide photographic ID e.g. passport, visa or driving licence. We also require two proofs of address documents. There may be additional documents required depending on your type of police check however your compliance officer will be able to advise you further on this.
TrustID is a third party online verification service. It is a framework requirement that we verify the identity of all staff working within a healthcare setting. TrustID verify the validity of the documents being provided to us.

Health Screening
All roles require childhood vaccinations as a minimum, however we can request temporary clearance until all evidence can be documented on file.
As part of the Framework Agency staff work within - we require a more extensive report than bank staff.
Your GP will have access to your childhood vaccinations. You can request your serology records from your current Occupational Health Department, some universities may also hold this. Your compliance officer will be able to advise further on this.
Criminal Record Disclosures
Requirements for a criminal records disclosure will be dependant on the disclosure required. As a general rule - your identity will need to be verified therefore we will need to hold on file photographic ID and two proofs of address. Your compliance officer will support and guide you through this process.

Let your compliance officer know if you are struggling to find acceptable documents. They will be able to guide you and can provide helpful suggestions.
As your employer we must be named as the designated body across all background checks.
Training
Direct Medics cover the fee for this as part of your comprehensive employee package.
Your compliance officer will provide any links for any online training you may need, and can advise on how to arrange any practical training.
Any training that is deemed mandatory for your chosen type of work will need to be completed prior to beginning any locum post. If you are having difficulties completing training on time, speak to your compliance officer or recruitment consultant who will be able to advise on what you can do.
The requirements for agency staff differ slightly to Trust staff, for example some modules need to be completed more regularly or more in-depth training is required. We can also only accept training from approved providers. We cover the cost of this training.
Don’t worry, you will not have to do this again. Once you have completed the course and the post course evaluation, a certificate will be generated that your compliance officer will be able to view and download.
Indemnity
Indemnity Insurance is available from each of the individual AHPs professional registrations. Membership of your professional body will always include indemnity insurance.
References
Referees will need to be provided from Consultants who have supervised you. You can use a clinical or educational supervisor also.
As part of our ongoing compliance updates and framework with our clients, we need to have recent references for all of our candidates who are working through Direct Medics. Your compliance officer will let you know when it is time to update these.
